Orangeville Hyundai Ownership Transition and Our First Ready Hub Partnership
In October 2017, Orangeville Hyundai became the first dealership to implement Dealer by Design’s Ready Hub platform. That early partnership played a foundational role in the development of Ready Hub and helped establish many of the operational workflows dealerships rely on today.
As Orangeville Hyundai enters a new ownership chapter, we want to recognize both the transition itself and the significance of the dealership’s place in Dealer by Design’s history.
Phil Richards Completes Sale of Orangeville Hyundai
Phil Richards has completed the sale of his ownership interest in Orangeville Hyundai. Richards originally purchased the dealership in 2007 and officially divested his interests effective September 1, 2025, closing a 19-year period of ownership.
Throughout that time, Orangeville Hyundai built a reputation for consistent process, transparent transactions, and operational discipline—values that closely aligned with why the dealership became Ready Hub’s first live location in 2017.
“Being Ready Hub’s first dealership taught us the value of process discipline and accountability. Those lessons shaped how we built Orangeville Hyundai, and they continue to guide how Ryan and I operate Orangeville Kia today.”
— Phil Richards, Former Owner, Orangeville Hyundai
The First Ready Hub Dealership
Orangeville Hyundai’s early adoption provided real-world insight into dealership delivery coordination, vehicle readiness, and cross-department accountability. Feedback from the store directly influenced how Ready Hub evolved from an initial proof of concept into a scalable dealership operations platform.
Being the first location required trust and a willingness to adopt new tools before they were widely proven. That trust helped validate the need for a centralized system to replace manual workflows, spreadsheets, and fragmented communication. Continued Support Under Parker Auto Group
While ownership has changed, Dealer by Design will continue supporting Orangeville Hyundai under its new ownership within the Parker Auto Group. Parker Auto Group is already a Ready Hub partner, with Blackstock Ford and Urban Ford actively using the platform. This existing relationship ensures a smooth transition for Orangeville Hyundai’s operations.
Our focus remains on ensuring continuity of operations, clear workflows, and long-term value regardless of ownership transitions or organizational change.
Strong dealership software should support stability during change, not introduce disruption—a principle that continues to guide our work.
Ongoing Commitment to Orangeville Kia
Phil Richards remains active in automotive retail through Orangeville Kia, which he originally built and opened in June 2011. Together with his son, Ryan Richards—who recently acquired an ownership interest—the dealership continues to operate with a no-fee, transparent transaction model centered on integrity and long-term customer relationships.
Plans are currently in place for an Orangeville Kia expansion in 2026 to further serve the Orangeville and Headwaters communities.
Looking Forward
Dealer by Design is grateful to Orangeville Hyundai for being our first Ready Hub dealership and for the role it played in shaping our platform during its earliest stages. We look forward to continuing our support of Orangeville Hyundai and the Parker Auto Group, while also recognizing the ongoing work at Orangeville Kia as it enters its next phase of growth.
